Art That Helps Us Heal is a children's book that was created to explain how the images children draw help them cope with their illness. Expressing their unique stories through their drawings allows them to rebuild themselves and become okay with what is going on around them. Through this book I explain a number of objects children may draw due to what is happening to them and what is happening around them.

I chose to focus on this as my thesis project, as it is a topic I have felt is of much importance. Being a child who had cancer I can say art therapy helped me in an unbelievable way. I want people to encourage art therapy to help children around them heal. 

With my research and personal experience, I've found that hospitals all around the country are trying this art therapy method with children. It has been a way that has allowed Nurses to get children to be more comfortable with medical treatment and a way Doctors are able to help children not only physically but mentally too.
